Billy Bob Messer spent a decade in public accounting, providing audit and consulting services to clients ranging from global corporations to local small and mid-sized businesses. In 2018, he transitioned to the role of CFO at a founder-led, hyper-growth software company in Farmers Branch, Texas. After successfully guiding the company through a sale to an institutional investor, Billy Bob founded BR Messer to help other founder-led companies professionalize their finance departments.

Over the course of his career, he has raised over $70 million in capital financing. Billy Bob holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance from Texas A&M University. He maintains an active CPA license and is a member of the AICPA. He lives in Carrollton, Texas with his wife, Amanda, and their two children.
